Onboarding Awardee IISMA 2024

A total of thirteen UNY students succeeded in obtaining scholarships in various countries through the 2024 IISMA program. Director of the UNY Academic Directorate of Student and Alumni Affairs (DAKA), Prof. Lia Yuliana, expressed this at the 2024 IISMA Awardee Onboarding event at the Auditorium Building D Floor 2 of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Jakarta, Tuesday (21/5). Also present at the event were Ghulam Dzaky Dewanto from Marketing Management 2021, Faculty of Vocational Studies, who was an awardee at Technische Universität Dresden (Vocational), Germany, from 14 October 2024 to 18 January 2025, as well as Kanwa Saputra Meytrian Roys from Psychology 2021, Faculty of Education and Psychology, who will take part in the program at Mahidol University, Thailand, from 5 August to 13 December 2024.

Dr. Rachmat Sriwijaya, Head of the IISMA Program, explained that this program has been running since 2021 and now has more than 500 alumni. The Onboarding event aims to prepare and release students who receive the 2024 IISMA scholarship. Apart from that, this activity also aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the objectives, academic standards and IISMA 2024 scholarship scheme to all awardees. This activity also provides space for scholarship recipients to convey their aspirations to all related parties.

Director General of Higher Education Research and Technology, Prof. Abdul Haris expressed his pride in the students' achievements and hoped that they could carry out their role as national ambassadors well. "You are the nation's ambassadors, show the world that Indonesian students have superior character and global competence," said Abdul Haris. He believes that IISMA is an effective way to improve technical skills, soft skills, and deep life experiences.

Prof. Lia Yuliana also expressed her joy at this achievement and expressed her gratitude to the Chancellor for the trust given. Apart from Ghulam Dzaky Dewanto and Kanwa Saputra Meytrian Roys, eleven other UNY students also received IISMA scholarships. Among them are Agnesia Rika Puteri Destiny (Accounting) who was an awardee at University Sains Malaysia, Ali Sulaiman (Information Engineering Education) at Technische Universität Dresden, Germany, Alfan Zidayyan (Civil Engineering) at Atlantic Technological University, Ireland, and Ibrahim Noor Gazali ( Automotive Engineering Education) at the University of Portsmouth, England.
